Israel says military unit has rescued female soldier in Gaza captured by Hamas
The soldier was reunited with her family.
Israel Defense Forces executing a ground raid of Gaza freed a female soldier who was taken captive by Hamas during the terror group's deadly Oct. 7 raid on Israel.
The soldier, identified by the IDF as Col. Uri Magidish, was examined by a medical professional, who found her to be in "good" condition, and she was reunited with her family, officials said.
"The IDF and Shin Bet will continue to make every effort to bring about the release of the abductees," the IDF said, referring to the Israel Security Agency, in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Magidish was one of more than 200 people taken captive by Hamas during a mass attack against Israel on Oct. 7 that resulted in the deaths of over 1,400 people.
So far, four hostages have been released by Hamas, the terrorist organization that controls the Gaza Strip.
