The Israeli military announced Tuesday that it has rescued one of the individuals taken hostage during Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel but did not elaborate on what it called a "complex operation."

Qaid Farhan Alkadi, 52, from Israel's Arab Bedouin minority, worked as a guard at a packing factory in Kibbutz Magen. He has two wives and is the father of 11 children.

Alkadi was rescued "in a complex operation in the southern Gaza Strip," the military said without providing further details.
