Lebanon and Israel to hold direct diplomatic talks for the first time in decades
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will participate in the talks, which are to be held in Washington.
Following more than a month of war between Israel and the Hezbollah militant group, Lebanon and Israel have agreed to hold direct diplomatic talks in Washington.
The talks will be the first time in decades the two countries have met for direct diplomacy, something Hezbollah has opposed.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio will participate, along with Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter and Lebanese Ambassador to the U.S. Nada Hamedeh Moawad, the Associated Press reported.
Hezzboolah will not have representation in the discussions.
