Hamas launched a rocket barrage on Sunday from the area of the southern Gaza city of Rafah, where Israeli forces are currently fighting, and air raid sirens were set off as far away as Tel Aviv for the first time in months.
Hamas' military wing claimed responsibility for the attack. Israel's ambulance service, Magen David Adom, reported that the attacks did not cause any fatalities.
The Israel Defense Forces said it identified eight launches from Rafah that crossed into Israel, and that air defense equipment managed to intercept some of the launches while the rest landed in open areas.
Additionally, about 15 rockets were launched from Lebanon into Israel.
During that incident, one man was slightly injured and is being treated at a hospital, according to The Times of Israel, citing Magen David Adom.
