The White House on Monday rejected Iran's latest peace proposal.

While the proposal submitted Sundayincludes more statements about Iran's commitment not to pursue nuclear weapons, it has no detailed commitments about suspending its nuclear uranium enrichment, according to Axios, which cited an unnamed source.

Iranian state-run media reported that the U.S. had agreed to ease some oil sanctions during negotiations, but a U.S. official told Axios that those concessions won't come without reciprocal action from Iran.

"We are at a very serious place today. The pressure is on them to be responsive in the right way," the senior U.S. official said.
