More than 400 people have been killed in Israel's recent airstrikes in Gaza, according to news reports Tuesday morning.

Israel resumed airstrikes on Hamas targets Monday, breaking a fragile ceasefire between the sides that took effect in January and amid stalled efforts to have hostages returned.

The number of casualties are being reported by hospitals, according to the Associated Press.

Israel went to war with Palestinian backed-Hamas after the group, which rules Gaza, launched a terror attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Thousands of people have been killed in the war.
