Famed singer and guitarist Wayne Osmond dies at the age of 73
Merrill Osmond, the third oldest of the group, announced his brother's death on Facebook, revealing that Wayne Osmond died in a Salt Lake City hospital after suffering a “massive stroke."
The second oldest son in the famous Osmond family musical act Wayne Osmond, who was also a singer and guitarist for the group, died on Wednesday at the age of 73.
Wayne Osmond, who was the fourth oldest of nine children including Donny and Marie Osmond, was a big hit alongside his family in the 1950s and 1960s. He also sang in a country music group with his brothers Alan, Jay, and Merrill in the 1980s, which saw success from songs like "I Think About Your Lovin.’”

“I’ve never known a man that had more humility. A man with absolutely no guile,” Merrill Osmond wrote. “An individual that was quick to forgive and had the ability to show unconditional love to everyone he ever met.”
His passing comes after he suffered a separate stroke in 2012 that stopped him from playing guitar, and a brain tumor in the 1990s that left him hard of hearing.
“His legacy of faith, music, love and laughter have influenced the lives of many people around the world," the Osmond family said in a statement, per The Guardian. "He would want everyone to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that families are forever and that banana splits are the best dessert. We love him and will miss him dearly.”
Wayne Osmond is survived by his wife Kathlyn, and five children. He is also survived by all seven brothers, and his sister Marie.
