White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre temporarily halted a press conference on Tuesday, after a woman in the back of the press briefing room reportedly experienced a medical emergency.

Jean-Pierre rushed to the unidentified woman after she collapsed due to the heat in the briefing room. The woman was seen by White House medical staff, and is doing okay, according to a News Nation reporter in the room.

Jean-Pierre resumed the press briefing a few minutes later, but offered water to other reporters before continuing, Mediaite reported.

The incident occurred as Washington, D.C., experienced elevated temperatures as high as the 90s on Tuesday, along with humidity, and could see even warmer temperatures over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasts have projected temperatures could be as high as 99 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday.

“Dozens of daily temperature records are set to fall over the next few days,” the weather service posted to X. “Readings will generally be much higher than what’s normally expected even during the hottest part of the summer. Stay cool. Hydrate. Check on neighbors."
