Hannity becomes latest Fox News host to move to, broadcast from Florida
"I am out. I am done. I’m finished," Hannity said about New York.
Sean Hannity moved from New York to what he calls the "free state of Florida," the longtime Fox News prime-time host announced on his radio and television shows.
"Tonight we are now broadcasting from my new home, the great, free state of Florida. Like so many Americans, I left New York for good, and I'm now in a state with, let's see, warmer weather, law and order, better education, more freedom, a better quality of life and guess what? No state income tax," he said Tuesday on his TV show "Hannity."
"If anybody is listening to this program for any length of time, [I have] been threatening now to do this for quite a while, but we are now beginning our first broadcast of my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida," the influential opinion show host said Tuesday on his radio program, "The Sean Hannity Show," according to Fox News.
"I am out. I am done. I’m finished. New York, New York, goodbye. Florida, Florida, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. But it’s great to be here," he also said, referring to lyrics from the classic song "New York, New York."
Hannity also said that the leaders of Florida reflect his political beliefs.
"And finally, for the first time that I can think of in my adult life, I actually have representatives in the state that I’m living in that share my values. I have a governor by the name of Ron DeSantis and Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Rick Scott. So I’m feeling a lot better about it," he also said.
Hannity is not the only Fox News host to move to Florida recently.
Fox anchor Bret Baier listed his Washington, D.C., mansion in October for $31.9 million after his family moved to Palm Beach.
