The lawyer representing key impeachment inquiry witness Tony Bobulinski sent a letter on Wednesday to House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin expressing frustration over the Democratic minority’s “abusive conduct” and “disingenuous mischaracterizations” of his client.

“We are watching the death throes of a political narrative that will be shattered upon the imminent public release of Mr. Bobulinski’s testimony before the House Committees on Oversight and Judiciary yesterday,” Stefan Passantino, Bobulinski’s lawyer, wrote. “The facts are before Congress and will soon be before the American people.”

“Minority assassination of Mr. Bobulinski’s character and grotesque mischaracterizations of his words will only serve to highlight the gaslighting and vilification Mr. Bobulinski has endured since he reluctantly came forward almost four years ago to share with the public the facts of his business experience with the Biden family,” he added.

You can read the letter below:

Tony Bobulinski, a former business partner of Hunter Biden and a key witness in the Biden family attempts to court CEFC China Energy, an energy conglomerate with ties to the Chinese Communist Party, appeared before the Oversight Committee on Tuesday for a closed door interview.

Ranking Member Raskin, the lead Democrat on the committee, released a statement following Bobulinski’s testimony, claiming “Bobulinski did not provide any evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden, nor did he provide any evidence at all that President Biden was involved in his family’s business dealings.”

Raskin also accused Bobulinksi of being “Donald Trump’s political pawn” and claimed that “Bobulinski accused multiple FBI agents of lying” in his interview before the committee.

Bobulinski’s lawyer pushed back on these claims, calling them “scurrilous allegations.”

“First, it is categorically false to assert that Mr. Bobulinski failed to ‘provide any evidence at all that President Biden was involved in his family’s business dealings’ or that he did not testify that ‘Joe Biden was not part of [the Biden family’s] business structure’,” Passantino wrote. “Mr. Bobulinski’s testimony and motivations for coming forward will soon be available for all to see, and false mischaracterizations will have no place in this debate,” he continued.

He also added that the forthcoming release of the interview transcript will show that Bobulinski did not accuse the FBI of lying about any of the statements that he originally gave them in October 2020, shortly before the election. At that time, Bobulinski had come forward to present evidence on Joe Biden’s alleged involvement in his son’s foreign business dealings on the eve of the election.

Bobulinski’s "testimony was unshakeable, providing facts Democrats didn’t want to hear. As such, Democrats put on a shameful display as they yelled at Mr. Bobulinski, cut him off, belittled him, and threatened him,” Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said in a statement following the interview.

“We will soon release the transcript to provide the American people with transparency about Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s shady schemes and Democrats’ efforts to smear him for blowing the whistle,” he continued.
