FIFA bans former Spanish soccer boss Luis Rubiales for three years after non-consensual kiss
FIFA said Monday that Rubiales has been notified that he breached the organization's disciplinary code.
The disciplinary committee for the international soccer organization FIFA banned former Spanish soccer association president Luis Rubiales for three years after he kissed Spanish player Jenni Hermoso on the lips without her consent while her team celebrated winning the Women's World Cup final.
FIFA said Monday that Rubiales has been notified that he breached the organization's disciplinary code and is banned "from all football-related activities at national and international levels for three years."
Rubiales had initially remained defiant to calls to resign after the nonconsentual kiss in August in Sydney, Australia, but he resigned the following month after Hermoso filed a sexual assault complaint against him.
