House Freedom Caucus votes out Ken Buck: Report
Buck announced last week that he would resign from Congress at the end of this week.
The House Freedom Caucus reportedly voted Tuesday evening to remove Colorado GOP Rep. Ken Buck, who is not seeking reelection in 2024.
Three members of the lower chamber's conservative block confirmed the vote to The Hill, saying he had not attended its regular meetings for months.
Buck announced last week that he would resign from Congress at the end of this week. He previously indicated he would not seek reelection in November contest.
Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert, who is a member of the Caucus, is seeking election to his seat in 2024 as the 4th District he represents is widely regarded as a safe Republican seat.
Prior to his ouster, Buck broke with House conservatives over a litany of issues, notably refusing to support the impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
The Freedom Caucus previously voted out Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene last year following her public disagreements with the bloc over challenging former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
