Jan. 6 committee releases transcripts of 34 witness testimonies
Some witnesses pleaded the Fifth Amendment for such basic questions such as age.
The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot has published transcripts from 34 witnesses, most of whom pleaded the Fifth amendment to avoid answering some questions during their interviews with the panel.
Some witnesses, such as Trump ally Roger Stone and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, pleaded the Fifth Amendment for even basic questions such as age, show transcripts published by the select committee.
Other witnesses with published transcripts include Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, Oath Keepers Founder Stewart Rhodes, Infowars host Alex Jones, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Arizona GOP Chair Kelli Ward, conservative attorney Jenna Ellis, Acting Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Clark and Trump campaign attorney John Eastman, whom the panel recommended to face criminal charges along with former President Trump on Monday.
The panel plans on releasing its full report covering its roughly 17 months of work on Thursday after delaying its anticipated release by one day.
House Republicans released a counter-report on Wednesday detailing the security failures at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
