Ohio Republican runs 'drill instructor' Super Bowl ad blasting 'useless' career politicians
The 30-second ad sees O'Hara lead a group of finely-dressed politicians through obstacle courses and berate them over ongoing issues facing the nation.
Ohio Republican Tim O'Hara ran a congressional ad during the Super Bowl depicting himself leading politicians through boot camp and declaring that "Congress needs a drill instructor."
A native of the Southern Ohio, O'Hara served more than seven years in the Marine Corps and spent a tour as a drill instructor. He hopes to succeed retiring Republican Rep. Brad Wenstrup in representing the 2nd Congressional District. The district includes a large swath of Southern Ohio to the East of Cincinnati and South of Columbus and is solidly Republican.
The 30-second ad sees O'Hara lead a group of finely-dressed politicians through obstacle courses and berate them over ongoing issues facing the nation. He also chides one "Private RINO" in an apparent dig at so-called "Republicans in name only."
"I've never seen anything more useless than a career politician," he declares to the group in a military lineup. Other segments show lawmakers attempting to climb over a wall and doing pushups.
There’s nothing more useless than a career politician. I’m ready to go to Washington and get Congress into shape. pic.twitter.com/ZANto0tTy4
