Pelosi says she's not considering Italian ambassadorship by 'any stretch of the imagination'
A prior news report said Pelosi was eyeing the diplomatic post in Rome if the Democrats lose their House majority in the midterm election
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi emphatically denied on Saturday that she has her sights set on the U.S. ambassadorship to Italy.
A report from Fox Business picked up by several other news outlets said Pelosi was eyeing the coveted diplomatic post if the Democrats lose their House majority in the midterm election taking place Nov. 8.
Biden has yet to nominate someone to serve as ambassador to Italy.
Pelosi was asked at the Congressional Black Caucus gala if the report was true.
"Not in the remotest stretch of the imagination," Pelosi responded.
