Polish President Duda meets with Trump in NY amid DA Bragg trial
"He's doing a fantastic job. The people of Poland love him, they really do. He's my friend, and we had four great years together," Trump said.
Polish President Andrzej Duda met with former U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening at Trump Tower in New York City.
Though Trump has moved his primary residence to Florida, he is staying in Trump Tower for the duration of his criminal trial in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's prosecution of him over allegedly falsifying business records, according to The Hill.
Details of the meeting remain unclear, though Trump offered supportive words for his longtime political ally.
"He's doing a fantastic job. The people of Poland love him, they really do... He's my friend, and we had four great years together," Trump said.
Duda was one of several European leaders with whom Trump enjoyed a good relationship while president and with whom he has maintained some connection after leaving office. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán notably visited Mar-a-Lago last month.
Orbán especially has maintained his support for Trump's return to the White House, insisting he would have prevented the Russian invasion in Ukraine. Trump, he said in March, "commanded respect in the world, and thus created the conditions for peace."
