The Save the Children Action Network is reaching out to individuals that contribute to the Save the Children nonprofit organization and asking them to participate in lobbying efforts to pass President Biden's budget reconciliation spending package.

Donors to the Save the Children humanitarian nonprofit are receiving a text message to their personal cell phones from the nonprofit's lobbying arm, Save the Children Action Network, asking them to help pass the Build Back Better Act, the massive, multitrillion-dollar Democratic spending wish list that has been pared back to a $1.75 trillion framework.

The text message reads: "Congress is about to vote on the Build Back Better Act, which would make life-changing investments in child care, early childhood education and child nutrition for millions of kids in the U.S.! Can children count on you to take a moment to help get it passed? Send a message to your members of Congress with Save the Children Action Network today."

The text provides a link to this page, which encourages visitors to send a provided form letter urging their members of Congress to pass the the Build Back Better Act.

Just the News asked Save the Children why it shares the contact information of its donors with its lobbying organization. The Save the Children press office did not respond before publication.

The Save the Children Action Network was also contacted about the issue but did not respond.
