Scalise: Formal impeachment inquiry vote on House floor Wednesday
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer says the Biden administration is stonewalling their investigation into the Biden family's foreign business dealings.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise says the GOP-led chamber's formal President Biden impeachment inquiry vote will be held Wednesday on the House floor.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer and other House Republican are trying to make the case that an official inquiry is needed because the Biden administration is stonewalling the investigation into the Biden family's foreign business dealings.
Emmers, a Minnesota Republican, said the Justice Department has refuses to let some of their attorneys testify before the House.
Democrats slammed the decision to have a formal impeachment inquiry vote.
"The House GOP's impeachment inquiry is nothing more than a political stunt to get back at Democrats and undermine the legitimacy of President Biden," said Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass. "They’re upset Trump lost the 2020 election, so they're doing everything they can to overturn it. It's unhinged and dangerous."
Democrats when in control of the House twice held impeachment hearing on then-President Trump, a Republican.
