Top-ranking Sen. Chuck Grassley is 'in good spirits' after being hospitalized with an infection, the Iowa Republican senator's office said.
Grassley "is receiving antibiotic infusions at an area hospital to treat an infection," his office said Tuesday. "He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors’ orders."
At 90, Grassley is the oldest sitting U.S. senator. He entered office in 1981 and currently serves as the ranking member of both the Senate Budget Committees and the Senate Narcotics Caucus. He also is President pro tempore emeritus of the Senate.
