Georgia Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock more than doubled his income after joining Congress, according to his financial disclosure records.

Most of Warnock's income outside of his estimated $174,000 annual Senate salary comes from his book deal and the church in which has served as senior pastor for nearly two decades.

Warnock made an estimated $541,965 in 2021, his financial disclosure filed earlier this month shows. This includes $120,964 from Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and $243,750 from Penguin Random House as an advance on his memoir.

In 2020, before he became senator, Warnock earned $221,602, including his $199,999 salary from the church and various other speaking fees.

The report comes after the National Republican Senatorial Committee filed a Federal Election Commission complaint earlier this summer, claiming that Warnock violated campaign finance laws by using political donations to defend himself in a 2019 lawsuit.
