Federal judge rejects 'orchestrated' effort to remove judge in Trump's classified docs case
Judge Pryor says he rejected "four of those orchestrated complaints" based on the "allegations lacking sufficient evidence to raise an inference that misconduct has occurred."
A federal judge appointed by former President George W. Bush rejected an effort to remove the judge presiding over former President Trump's classified documents case, describing it as an "orchestrated campaign" against her.
CNBC reported that more than 1,000 complaints were filed in a single week in May against Judge Aileen Cannon.
William Pryor, chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, "dismissed" the effort to remove her.
Pryor said in an order on May 22 that "four of those orchestrated complaints" were rejected "based on allegations lacking sufficient evidence to raise an inference that misconduct has occurred."
