Judge sets Trump bond at $200K in Georgia election case
He would further be unable to discuss the facts of the case with his 18 co-defendants except through their legal counsel.
A Georgia judge has set former President Donald Trump's bond at $200,000 as part of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's prosecution of him in relation to efforts to challenge the 2020 election results in the Peach State.
To remain out of custody amid the legal proceeding, Trump would have to post the bond and agree that he "shall perform no act to intimidate any person known to him or her to be a codefendant or witness in this case or to otherwise obstruct the administration of justice," ABC News reported.
He would further be unable to discuss the facts of the case with his 18 co-defendants except through their legal counsel. The judge further warned that the order would apply to "posts on social media or reposts of posts made by another individual on social media."
The order comes ahead of the Friday deadline for Trump and his codefendants to voluntarily surrender in the case.
Two co-defendants, attorney John Eastman and Scott Hall, have already negotiated their bond conditions. Eastman and Hall agreed to post $100,000 and $10,000 respectively.
Willis has charged Trump and 18 of his political allies, including Eastman and Hall, with racketeering charges under the state's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Trump himself also faces a litany of counts for conspiracy, making false statements, and soliciting a public official to violate their oath.
