Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly made violent threats against the FBI on the social media platform Gab, the Department of Justice announced on Monday.

The DOJ announced in a press release that Adam Bies, 46, had allegedly posted a string of threatening messages against the Bureau in which he declared he would kill its agents.

Gab user "BlankFocus," whom authorities identified as Bies, posted that “[m]y only goal is to kill more of them before I drop” and “If You Work For The FBI Then You Deserve To Die.”

“Every single piece of [expletive] who works for the FBI in any capacity, from the director down to the janitor who cleans their [expletive] toilets deserves to die. You’ve declared war on us and now it's open season on YOU," he further wrote. “HEY FEDS. We the people cannot WAIT to water the trees of liberty with your blood. I’ll be waiting for you to kick down my door.”

He faces charges of "influencing, impeding or retaliating against federal law enforcement officers," the DOJ announced, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. He remains in custody pending a detention hearing.

The FBI attracted significant outrage over alleged political bias following its raid last Monday on former President Donald Trump's Florida estate reportedly seeking classified documents Trump may have removed from the White House. In one instance, an armed suspect attempted to enter an FBI office in Cincinnati, resulting in a protracted chase and exchange of gunfire that ended in the suspect's death.
