San Francisco police make arrest in killing of Cash App founder, suspect worked in tech, report

The arrest was made in Emeryville, in the Bay Area, north of San Francisco, where Lee was killed.

The San Francisco Police Department reportedly made an arrest early Thursday morning in the April 4 fatal stabbing of tech executive Bob Lee, allegedly by a person who knew the Cash App founder.

The arrest was made in Emeryville, in the Bay Area, north of San Francisco, where Lee was killed, according MissionLocal.org, a local news outlet. 

The 43-year-old Lee died in the early morning hours of April 4 in a deserted section of downtown San Francisco.

Lee and the suspect were familiar with each other and were  driving together through the downtown in a car registered to the suspect when a confrontation between them occurred, the news outlet also reports.

The confrontation reportedly continued outside of the vehicle, and knife was reportedly found near the crime scene.

Lee was seen on surveillance video staggering on the street, unsuccessfully asking a motorist for help.
