Disgraced, ex-FBI agent Strzok says Sept. 11 'nothing compared' to Jan.› 6

Fired FBI agent ​​Peter Strzok says the 9/11 terror attack that killed nearly 3,000 people on U.S. soil is "nothing compared" to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The FBI terminated Strzok's employment in 2018 after a review of thousands of his texts with bureau lawyer Lisa Page, with whom he was having an affair, that showed a bias toward then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Strzok, who also opened the FBI’s Russia-Trump campaign collusion probe, made the Sept. 11, 2001-Jan. 6, 2021 comparison Monday night on MSNBC. 

"If you look at the scale in terms of threat to democracy — I mean 9/11 was a tragedy, we lost thousands of lives in a horrific way — we still mourn to this day," Strzok said. "But when you look at something that is an attack on democracy ... that could actually bring about a fundamental change to American governance, as we understand it — 9/11 is nothing compared to January 6."

A bipartisan Senate report released earlier this year found nine people died on or after Jan. 6, including Ashli Babbit, a 36-year-old military veteran who was shot by a police officer as she tried to enter a secured area of the Capitol building, according to the Daily Wire.

In Strzok's recently released termination letter, then-FBI Director David Bowdich wrote:, "As I considered all the known facts associated with the adjudication of your case it was difficult to imagine another incident like yours which brought so much discredit to the organization."
