New York Gov. Kathy Hochul tests positive for COVID-19
She also encouraged people to get vaccinated.
New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul announced she tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and is completely asymptomatic.
Her test comes after New York City raised its COVID alert level last week due to an increase in cases.
"Today I tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, I’m vaccinated and boosted, and I’m asymptomatic. I’ll be isolating and working remotely this week," Hochul posted on Twitter.
"A reminder to all New Yorkers: get vaccinated and boosted, get tested, and stay home if you don’t feel well," she added.
Under Hochul and her predecessor former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York State had some of the most stringent COVID measures in the United States.
