Trump said that he was "honored" to be elected chairman, but he did not announce any other new board members.
President Donald Trump on Wednesday was unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of the Kennedy Center, by its newly minted board of trustees, the president announced on social media.
The official election comes after Trump announced last week that he would be replacing current Chairman David Rubenstein, and that he himself would serve as chairman.
Trump said that he was "honored" to be elected chairman, but he did not announce any other new board members.
"President Donald J. Trump was just unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C." Trump posted on Truth Social. "It is a Great Honor to be Chairman of The Kennedy Center, especially with this amazing Board of Trustees. We will make The Kennedy Center a very special and exciting place!"
The president has also said he will be replacing several new members of the board, but did not confirm who he would be eliminating. He additionally announced on Monday that his envoy for special missions Ric Grenell would serve as interim executive director of the Kennedy Center.
