Virginia man charged for allegedly threatening to kill Vice President Kamala Harris
Carillo on his social media account allegedly threatened to burn Harris alive, shoot her, or stab her if she gets elected president this November, according to the criminal complaint.
A man from Winchester, Virginia, was charged with threatening to kill Vice President Kamala Harris on a conservative social media site, according to a criminal complaint.
Frank Carillo, who used an alias on the website GETTR, has allegedly made 19 threats against Harris, including several threats just days after she announced her bid for the presidency following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race. She has since become the presumptive Democratic nominee.
The Virginian made his first court appearance on Monday, and will be detained until his next hearing on Thursday, according to NBC News.
Carillo on his social media account allegedly threatened to burn Harris alive, shoot her, or stab her if she gets elected president this November, according to the criminal complaint. Police found two guns at his home.
“Kamala Harris needs to be put on fire alive. I will do it personally if no one else does it I want her to suffer a slow agonizing death," one post read, per the affidavit.
Carillo also threatened Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray, Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, and other public officials. He also allegedly threatened to shoot illegal immigrants and Muslims.
Former President Donald Trump, Harris's rival for the White House, and Trump's running-mate JD Vance have also been threatened on social media. A man in Florida was arrested for the threats last month.
