Hall of Fame quarterback Len Dawson, who led the Kansas City Chiefs to their first Super Bowl title, died Wednesday. He was 87.

Dawson’s family announced his death in a statement to a Kansas City-based television station, according to the Associated Press. The family did not release a cause of death, Dawson had been in declining health for years, the wire service also reports.
