Spain wins FIFA Women's World Cup against England 1-0

Spain beat England 1-0 Sunday in the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia.

The referee added 13 minutes of stoppage time, or time added at the end of a Soccer match due to time spent on injuries and video reviews earlier in the game. In this case, the time was spent earlier in the game when the video assistant referee was used to check for a penalty and English player Alex Greenwood received a serious head injury, according to CNN. 

When the additional time was added, Spain was still ahead of England 1-0.

The match was historic, as neither Spain nor England had ever won a FIFA Women's World Cup.
