The United States advanced Wednesday night to the World Cup round of 16 with a 2-0 shutout of Bosnia and Herzegovina, overcoming a red card penalty that will keep one of its stars out of the next game.

The win was just the second-ever in the World Cup knockout round for the U.S men's team.

Folarin Balogun scored a goal before halftime that gave the U.S. a 1-0 lead. But he got ejected with a second half red card.

Malik Tillman then scored on a free kick to give the undermanned America team a lead that would hold.
