WWE founder Vince McMahon resigns from TKO following sex trafficking claims

As initial reports of alleged hush payments he made to employees began to emerge in 2022, McMahon announced his retirement, though he returned to WWE board last year.

WWE founder Vince McMahon on Friday resigned as the executive chairman of parent company TKO after a former staffer sued alleging sexual assault and trafficking.

McMahon denied the claims of Janel Grant, who claims he trafficked her and used the prospect of promotions to secure sex. He plans to defend himself from the suit, according to CNN.

"“Out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately," he said Friday.
