Ford says it will raise the price of its electric F-150 for the second time in two months

Ford Motor Corp. will raise the price of its electric F-150 for the second time in as many months, a sign of the continued difficulties automakers face in an economy rife with supply chain issues and record inflation. 

The company's F-150 Lightning will run consumers $52,000, up from $40,000 when production first began in April. 

The company had already raised the price of the truck $7,000 in August amid substantial difficulties with inflation and parts procurement, factors that have plagued most auto manufacturers for much of 2022. 

The company itself said “ongoing supply chain constraints, rising material costs and other market factors" were responsible for the price hikes.
