Judge orders Nathan Wade's divorce lawyer to testify again on client’s relationship with Fani Willis

A Georgia judge has ordered the former law partner and divorce attorney of Nathan Wade to testify again about the Trump special prosecutor's relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis – as defendants in the state's 2020 election interference case seek to have Willis disqualified. 

Lawyer Terrence Bradley may be forced to retake the witness stand as Tuesday after Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee informed attorneys in an email late Monday that attorney-client privilege does not protect some conversations that Bradley had with Wade, according to the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. 

The order to testify comes after the judge and Bradley held a closed-door meeting Monday that lasted more than an hour.

A spokesperson for Willis said that the district attorney's office can only provide comment in court. 

Defense attorneys in the Trump election interference case are hoping to disqualify Willis and her entire office because of an "improper" romantic relationship between the district attorney and Wade, whom she appointed to the investigate the alleged interference in Georgia in the 2020 presidential elections. 

The probe resulted in former President Donald Trump and 18 other co-conspirators being hit with multiple charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Trump's favor. 

The judge has already heard testimony that the couple's romance began before Willis hired Wade, and defense attorneys have argued that Bradley may be able to testify about the couple's relationship before Wade became special prosecutor in the case.
