Education Department delays updated FAFSA form rollout again
Last year's delay caused a $1.8 billion deficit in available financial aid since families' incomes were not correctly adjusted for inflation.
The Department of Education has delayed the rollout of its updated Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA for the second year.
The department said that it plans to test the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid in October among “a limited set of students and institutions” and release it to the general public in December.
