Seinfeld blasts school his kids attended for allowing excused absences day after election
“What kind of lives have these people led that makes them think that this is the right way to handle young people?" Seinfeld says
Comedian Jerry Seinfeld blasted the $65,000 per year elite private school his kids once attended for allowing “emotionally distressed” students to skip class the day after the presidential election.
The “excused absences” will be granted to students who aren't able to pay full attention in class, given that the upcoming presidential election on Tuesday “may be a high-stakes and emotional time," according to the Ethical Culture Fieldston School administration.
Students won't have homework on Election Day.
The attendance policy for the day after the election was announced in a newsletter to parents.
“This is why the kids hated it,” Seinfeld said. “What kind of lives have these people led that makes them think that this is the right way to handle young people? To encourage them to buckle. This is the lesson they are providing, for ungodly sums of money.”
