Trump accepts nomination in South Lawn convention speech
President Trump on Thursday night formally accepted the Republican Party's nomination for president.
Trump accepted the nomination at the start of his speech, on the South Lawn of the White House, on the final night of the Republican National Convention.
"My fellow Americans, tonight, with a heart full of gratitude and boundless optimism, I proudly accept this nomination for President of the United States," Trump said. "In a new term as president, we will again build the greatest economy in history – quickly returning to full employment, soaring incomes, and record prosperity.
"We will defend American against all threats, and protect America against all dangers. We will lead America into new frontiers of ambition and discovery, and we will reach for new heights of national achievement."
