Campaign for Michigan GOP Senate candidate James accuses state officials of voter suppression
"A lot of irregularities" – James campaign consultant Stuart Sandler
The campaign for Michigan GOP Senate candidate John James is accusing state officials of voter suppression and election interference in the candidate's bid to unseat the Democratic incumbent.
Campaign consultant Stuart Sandler told Fox News that Team James is concerned about "a lot of irregularities.”
James appeared to be the winner of his Senate race until ballots started pouring in during the middle of the night, a situation similar to that for President Trump. The Associated Press on Wednesday called the race Trump's Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
Concerns about voter irregularities led to some chaos Wednesday outside of a vote-tally room in downtown Detroit where mail-in ballots are being counted.
“There were all kinds of chicanery, including ballots that came in reportedly in the middle of the night at 3:30 a.m. – 35,000 ballots that were deceptively brought in,” Sandler also said.
James, an Iraq War veteran, is running to unseat Sen. Gary Peters, the top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security committee.
