GOP U.S. Senate candidate for Nevada launches election integrity project to clean up voter rolls
"By cleaning up the voter rolls, we are taking a critical step towards ensuring that every vote is legitimate and counted accurately," Dr. Jeff Gunter said.
Republican U.S. Senate candidate for Nevada, Dr. Jeff Gunter, announced on Monday that he is launching an election integrity project with The People's Audit to clean up the state's voter rolls.
Gunter, who was the U.S. ambassador to Iceland under the Trump administration, is starting a project to ensure that Nevada's voter rolls are clean ahead of the 2024 elections in the state.
"In recent years, Nevada has faced numerous challenges that have threatened the integrity of our electoral process. From the complexities of ballot harvesting to issues surrounding duplicate voter registrations, it's time we take decisive action to restore trust in our electoral system," Gunter said in a statement.
"Our partnership with The People’s Audit marks a pivotal moment in safeguarding our elections. By cleaning up the voter rolls, we are taking a critical step towards ensuring that every vote is legitimate and counted accurately," he added.
The project will include using software to monitor the state's voter rolls for erroneous or duplicate entries, with a focus on last-minute additions. The goal is to work with all Nevada counties to review and fix these records.
The People's Audit has previously worked on election integrity issues in Florida and Texas.
