Intel Committee chair criticizes Biden admin for lack of response in Trump assassination plot
The lack of a response from the Biden administration leaves Iran without a deterrent and creates a permissive atmosphere in which Iran can meddle in the U.S. election, Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, said.
Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, said Sunday that the Biden administration is being unresponsive in light of allegations that Iran was plotting to assassinate Donald Trump and interfere with the presidential election.
“I'm saying that… there is not a response that impacts Iran or that has a deterrent effect or holds them accountable,” Turner, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, said on CBS’s “Face The Nation” this weekend.
Turner pointed to Microsoft issuing a statement that an unnamed presidential candidate had been hacked, which the Trump team stated its campaign had been hacked, The Hill reported. He also said the administration has acknowledged a plot to assassinate Trump, which he said would amount to an “act of war.”
“I think what's missing here is a response from the administration,” Turner said in the CBS interview.
