Paul's townhalls with Brooks come less than a week before the election

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) plans on campaigning this Friday for Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), who is facing Katie Britt in the Alabama GOP Senate primary next week.

"Too many in D.C. just want to be part of the swamp and spend like Democrats. Too many stood silently while I fought Fauci and the lockdowns. Too many want more endless wars," Paul said in his endorsement of Brooks obtained by Just the News.

"It matters what type of Republican you elect in your primary runoff June 21. Mo has proven that he will join me in fighting the mandates, balancing the budget and pushing an America First foreign policy," the fiscally conservative Kentucky Republican said.

Paul plans on visiting Homewood, Alabama, for a townhall with Brooks this Friday at noon, followed by another in Huntsville at 3 pm.

Brooks came in second during May's primary with less than 30% of the votes compared to Katie Britt, who won nearly 45%, according to the Associated Press.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Britt in the primary and again in the runoff to ultimately replace retiring Republican Sen. Richard Shelby.

Trump unendorsed Brooks, one of his fiercest defenders, in March after he told voters twice that they must look toward the 2022 and 2024 elections.
