In rare joint appearance, Biden, Harris to Pennsylvania for Fetterman, other Democrat candidates
The president and vice president have not appeared together for an event outside of D.C since an event in Atlanta in January.
President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are set to travel to Pennsylvania on Friday to help fellow Democrats in close midterm races – a rare situation in which they travel and appear together on stage, this time in a closed event, not a campaign stop.
Biden and Harris are schedule to attend a reception for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
The two haven’t appeared together for an event outside of D.C since an event in Atlanta in January, according to The Hill newspaper.
The Pennsylvania visit comes amid Democrat John Fetterman's bid to win a GOP-help Senate seat.
Fetterman, the state's lieutenant governor, has been the frontrunner from the start of the campaign but GOP rival Dr. Mehmet Oz has narrowed Fetterman's lead to as little as 2 percentage points, according to most recent polls.
The outcome of the race could determine whether Democrats or Republicans after Election Day Nov. 8 control the Senate, which is now evenly split 50-50.
