Republican Congressman Scott says Democrats are trying to cause chaos in the GOP to win in 2024
Scott predicted that the Democrats' goal is to keep the 45th president off the ballot and send the Republican Party into a convention with no viable nominee.
Georgia GOP Rep. Austin Scott says the Democrats' plan to win in 2024 is to cause chaos in the Republican Party.
"The only hope for Biden and Harris to win is to create chaos inside the Republican Party," he said on the Tuesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "So they want to talk about election interference."
Former President Donald Trump has been indicted three times, with two of the indictments bringing federal charges.
Scott predicted that the goal is to keep the 45th president off the ballot and send the Republican Party into a convention with no viable nominee.
"I think that their whole goal is to get a federal conviction against him," he said. "It will be a procedural conviction against him. But ultimately, if they get a federal conviction against him for a felony, then they believe that the laws are going to keep him off of the ballot in a certain number of states."
Scott said that this would create tremendous chaos.
"What does that do to the Republican Party?" he asked. "It would send us into a convention where we would not have a Republican nominee for president. Then it would create tremendous chaos inside the Republican Party."
