The presidential campaign of independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is reportedly facing increasing financial struggles as the expensive legal effort to gain ballot access continues to drain cash and force additional layoffs.

Campaign staffers still on the payroll in Kennedy's long-shot bid to become president told the news outlet the same, according to the report.
Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, gave the campaign $2.5 million last month alone.
"My goal is to make sure we are on the ballots," she said.
