Outgoing Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey is endorsing Dr. Mehmet Oz as his replacement, but he dodged a question about whether he will support Doug Mastriano, the GOP nominee for governor.
During a campaign event Tuesday for television personality Dr. Oz, Toomey said: "I am supporting a number of House candidates that I think are in a very good position to win and will make great candidates, but I have a limit to how many political campaigns I'm getting involved in. I'm going to stick to the Senate race and a handful of House races."
A reporter responded by asking whether the senator was giving a "no" to supporting Mastriano, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
"I said I'm going to stick with the Senate race and a handful of House races," Toomey replied.
Mastriano, who was subpoenaed by the House Jan. 6 committee, is in stark contrast to Toomey, who voted to convict Trump during his second impeachment.
