There's pressure for GOP to impeach Biden if they win the House, according to S.C. Rep. Nancy Mace

South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace says that if they take back the House in the midterm elections, Republicans will face pressure to impeach President Biden.

"I believe there's a lot of pressure on Republicans to have that vote, to put that legislation forward, and to have that vote," Mace said in response to an impeachment question from NBC's "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd. "I think that is something that some folks are considering."

Mace has not said how she would vote on impeaching Biden, The Hill reports. 

"I will not vote for impeachment of any president if I feel that due process has been stripped away for anyone, and I typically vote constitutionally regardless of who's in power," she told Todd. Mace did not vote to impeach Trump in 2021. 

"I want to do the right thing for the long term because this isn't just about today, tomorrow, this year's election," Mace said. "This is about the future of democracy. This is about protecting our constitution."

Some House Republicans are on board with the impeachment of Joe Biden, such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) who introduced articles of impeachment against Biden the day after he was inaugurated, stating that he abused power in his business dealings with his son Hunter in Ukraine. 

The Georgia congresswoman's House Resolution 57 states that Biden: 

• endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of government;
• threatened the integrity of the democratic system;
• interfered with the peaceful transition of power; 
• imperiled a coordinate branch of government; and 
• demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security, democracy, and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office.
