Trump-backed Bailey wins GOP gubernatorial primary in Illinois

Republican state Sen. Darren Bailey, who was endorsed by former President Trump, is the projected winner of the GOP gubernatorial primary on Tuesday in Illinois.

Bailey, a family farmer, defeated two challengers. Trump campaigned for him over the weekend at a rally.

He will run against incumbent Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
