UK's National Health Service to declare sex a biological fact, major shift from gender ideology
Women’s rights advocates welcomed the change, following years of accusations that the health service had been captured by “gender ideology.”
The NHS, one of the United Kingdom's four major health care systems, is set to declare that sex is a biology fact, marking a landmark shift against gender ideology.
The proposed change to the National Health Service constitution will for the first time ban trans women from women-only wards and give women the right to request a female doctor for intimate care, according to The Telegraph newspaper.
The NHS constitution is a document intended to set out the principles and values of the health service and legal rights for patients and staff.

NHS guidance in 2021 said transgender patients could be placed in single-sex wards based on the gender with which they identified, The Telegraph also reports.
