MTG cites opposition to foreign aid for voting against NDAA
Her comments came in response to a post outlining the bill's inclusion of millions in financial support for Israel and Ukraine.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Thursday explained her vote against the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) by highlighting its inclusion of foreign aid funding.
The NDAA is the annual megabill that funds most of the U.S.'s defense operations. It is common for lawmakers to include a number of rider provisions or unrelated legislative items in the package due to its "must pass" status.
"Last night, I voted NO on final passage of the NDAA.
I support our great military but I will not vote to send American hard earned tax dollars towards foreign aid and foreign wars," Greene posted on X.
Her comments came in response to a post outlining the bill's inclusion of millions in financial support for Israel and Ukraine. Both nations are currently engaged in hostilities with their numbers and continued American financial support for their governments has proven a wedge issue for the Republican Party.
