Former President Donald Trump's campaign announced on Sunday that it had raise more than $7.1 million since his booking at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia on Thursday.

Trump surrendered himself last week after a grand jury handed up charges as part of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's investigation into his efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results in the Peach State. Trump's team subsequently published his mugshot and unveiled merchandise featuring the image.

The fundraising haul included $4.18 million the campaign brought in on Friday, which marked its highest-grossing single day, the Associated Press reported.

Trump has previously surrendered himself for booking in three other prosecutions, including one from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and two from special counsel Jack Smith, though none of those instances saw authorities take a mugshot of the former  president.

Despite all of his legal woes, he remains the clear frontrunner in the Republican primary, holding an average 40.0% lead over nearest rival Ron DeSantis, according to RealClearPolitics.
